Funny story about the mods...
I made a good profit when I sold my last car for this one so immediately I make a list of all of the car parts I want...Bought a beautiful set of k sport coilovers and never put them on...because the bf and I decided to buy a house...so I sold them to a buddy so I could keep the cash for the downpayment. I agree the car needs more low. Neons have that high-ass thing going on.
The guy I bought the SRT from was way out in VA. Turns out he was a chrysler technician and aside from the fact that he kept the car garaged, undriven, and in immaculate condition (16k miles on an 05...), he did a few upgrades which made me happy because he knew what he was doing.
First of all, I'm psyched to have the ACR editon because:
Wider 16×7 inch (410×180 mm) BBS RX racing wheels with 40 mm (1.6 in) offset
Wider 225/45/16 BFG KDW2 tires
Lowered ride height from spring seat lowering and small diameter tires
5 position adjustable performance Tokico Illumina dampers
Thicker rear stabilizer bar (19 mm)
Stiffer bushings in the rear tension struts
ACR embroidered, Viper-styled, racing seats with pass-throughs for a racing harness
AND there were only 433 black ones made.
(YES, this girl seriously loves her neon that much)
Mods the previous owner made:
Mopar Stage 2 Turbo Upgrade (ECU and injectors)
Greddy Turbo Timer
AGP Wastegate
Mopar blowoff plate, the valve itself is stock
For some reason I have a stage 3 fuel rail, no idea why.
Mini mods me/the bf made:
Booger bushings
Shifter Cradle Bushings
72% maddog STS short throw shifter
Autometer boost gauge (the stock SRT 4 one JUST went bad...they have a tendency to do that apparently) Fiberglass eyelids, depo taillights, clear side markers, 5% tint. Sexy shiftknob. Ha.
I'd love to stick some bigger things under her hood but a) money is tight now because of the house...funny how priorities change
and b) I'm scared I might blow her up. I mentioned earlier about how the white one is a demon...I mean literally. Let me see if I can scrounge up some youtube vidoes/photos and his dyno sheet. (actually, I'm taking the fun out of it, I'll let him share. Told him about the forum yesterday and he joined, so he's lurking around here somewhere
) So much power under the hood, car said no more and was in the shop for about 2 years, no one could diagnose, let alone fix the problem...lots and lots o money later we find out the car was making so much power it stretched the bolts on the head so it lifted up or something of that nature and thats what was causing it to do all sorts of crazy things...now we know we need to put aside some $$$ to build the motor to get her back up to speed again. For now, she runs fine but isn't tuned to her max, and we keep her garaged during the winter...has barely seen a drop of rain/snow.
Ok, 'nuff braggin.

- As do I Paul. Srt4 neons are cool little cars. I've never really looked inside one.
A lot of people say the styling is plasticy, but i like it. its comfortable for me and looks sporty...i wouldn't change a thing. I think its really slick because of the all black (I have some weird obsession with the color black). Have you even ridden in one? You know, for me, I was like umm...it's just a neon. but then I got in one and I was like holy chit this thing is a mini beast. There isn't really a car to compare. Power + pricing = best deal ever. The only other cars I could compare it to is maybe an Sti or Evo but those are both way over priced and not as rumbly/grumbly/mean as the SRT, IMO. but everyone has their opinion
Maybe I'm a girl, but the first time I floored it I scared myself to pieces haha. All the silly teenagers wreck them and I don't want to be one of them!

same neon interior, but with a boost gauge and nicer seats. lol... one thing that drove me up a wall was it had power windows up front and manual windows in the back.
yeah, we get made fun of a LOT for that....such an odd characteristic. LOL.
P.S. no one is scaring me off
I just take awhile to come back because I'm lazy haha. My main forum is 2GN.org (the neon crowd, basically) so I'm on there most of the time.
